Details: JOHN THOMAS PALMER, Butcher, Port Stephen-street, was born at West Maitland in 1852, but came when an infant to Raymond Terrace, where he has resided ever since. On leaving school he assisted his uncle in the conduct of his butchering business until 1882, when that gentleman retired, and our subject became sole proprietor. This business, which is the principal one of its kind in the town, was established over fifty years ago by Mr. S. Adam. Mr. Palmer has been a total abstainer for the past twenty-three years, and for many years a son of temperance. He was married at Raymond Terrace in 1874, and has five children living
