Died 10 Jan. 1927 Adamstown, NSW. Meth. funeral. Began work in brickfield at 10. Served apprenticeship as ironmoulder. Arr. NSW 1874; settled Newcastle; for 16 months foreman ironmoulder with Rodgers engineering works. Went to California for 2 years. Returned to Newcastle; again foreman at Rodgers engineering works. Resigned when el. to LA. Described as ironmoulder at death. Labour 1891; refused pledge; stood as Prot 1894. MLA for Newcastle 17 June 1891-25 June 1894
