EDWARD JAMES BARMER, Draper, Grocer, Ironmonger, and General Storekeeper, King-street, was born in New South Wales in 1863, and gained his business training and experience in Sydney. In 1885 he came to Raymond Terrace, and with a partner purchased his present business, becoming at the end of twelve months the sole proprietor. This is the oldest and one of the most extensive establishments in the town and was started thirty-five years ago by Mr. Bolding. In addition to the retail trade, the present proprietor does a considerable business in supplying small stores in the remote parts of the district, and the house is well known far and near
