Daniel McNamara (Macnamara) was appointed Hospital Mate at Haslar in 1810.

He was appointed Surgeon in the Royal Navy 11 February 1812.

He was entered in the Navy List of Medical Officers in 1814.

Surgeon Superintendent

Daniel McNamara was employed as Surgeon Superintendent on three convict ship voyages to Australia:

Lord Melville in 1817

Canada in 1819

John Barry in 1821


He was included on the List of Retired Surgeons in 1852 - Retired on a commuted allowance, in lieu of half pay.
