On Thursday arrived from England after a passage of about eight months, His Majesty's Ships Dromedary of 40, Captain Pascoe and Hindostan of 30 guns, Captain Pritchett, having on board the first Battalion of the 73rd Regiment of Foot. In the Hindostan arrived His Excellency Governor McQuarie and Lady; and Ellis Bent Esq., Judge Advocate, and Lady; and in the Dromeday Lieutenant Governor O'Connell, Lieut-Col of the Regiment

Monday last being the Anniversary of the Birthday of Our most Gracious Sovereign was ushered in with the ringing of bells and display of flags from Fort Philip the Royal Standard waved conspicuous and the Union Jack was hoisted at Dawes's Point Battery and on board all the ships in the cove. Age 12 oclock His Excellency the Governor arrived on the parade attended by the Officers of his staff where the 73rd regiment commanded by Lieut-Col O'Connell passed in review before him and fired three vollies in honor of the day
