On my retiring for the night I looked into the prisoner s room and found she was absent. She did not return during the night...(signed Mary Smith). No defence. Guilty. Sentenced to 14 days in the cells

Upon my reproving her for her insolence, she said she did not care, that the Magistrate could not hang her and in other respects her behaviour was dis respectful....Sentenced to 7 days in the cells
