Farmer. Resident at Ash Island
Place:
Kings Town, Newcastle
Details:
A robbery was three weeks since perpetra- ted at Kings Town, Newcastle on the property of John Green, his chest having been wrenched open. Joseph Samuels was taken up on suspicion, and after much evasion, consented to acknowledge the fact upon certain conditions, and at length confessed himself the principal and criminated another as an accomplice. The latter admitted that he had received the property from Samuels, and secreted the whole among the sand on the beach. The spot of interment, however, could not be found, and such mode of treatment was adopted by the Gentleman in command as the heinous nature of the offence required.
