Executed at Hobart on 3rd May 1851 for robbery under arms. The morning was rainy and very few people were present. The wretched man, being a Presbyterian, was attended on the scaffold by Rev. Lillie. Before being launched into eternity Wilson addressed the crowd and desired them to take warning by his fate and avoid Sabbath breaking which had been the foundation of all his crimes

Found guilty of robbing Patrick Cooney. His Honor in passing sentence dwelt on the enormity of the prisoner's offences and remarked that he had been a seoncd time transported for similar crimes. By the Judge - "You are to be taken from whence you came, and there remain till the day of execution, when you are to be hanged by the neck until you be dead, and may the Lord have mercy on your soul"
