Details: DAVID GROVER, SEN., Cooboobendi, was born in Lewes, Sussex, England, on the 10th September, 1809, and came to Sydney in 1827. He at first spent some years dairying and looking after stock, and then for eleven years followed grazing on the Ballone River, Queensland. In 1852 he came to Boggabri and purchased his present property, comprising about 5000 acres of splendid grazing land, on which he runs 4000 sheep, thirty head of cattle, and twenty milk cows. For some years after coming here he retained possession of his stations on the Ballone River, and at one time leased as much as 250,000 acres in Queensland. He has a family of three sons and two daughters, and is the oldest settler in the district
