Details:Michael Brannagan, convicted of assaulting John Bodham, with an intent to kill and murder. Mr. Justice Kinchela said, that the commission of this offence had been attended with great aggravation. Prisoner had been sentenced to receive 50 lashes ; prosecutor was the scourger. It was to revenge himself the attack had been made, an offence which it was necessary to put down. He then proceeded to pass sentence of death in the usual way.
