QUEEN VICTORIA HOTEL - GLENNIES CREEK

Morris Magney was granted a publican's license for the Queen Victoria Inn in 1848. He had previously been landlord of the Robin Hood Inn at Jerry's Plains and the 'Prince Albert Inn' and Windmill Inn at Mt. Thorley. In 1851, Magney took out the license for the California Hotel in Watt Street Newcastle.

The Camberwell annual Races were held at the rear of the Queen Victoria Inn in April 1848

Morris Magney purchased furniture from Forbes Hotel in Singleton in 1848 and in August of that year he was cautioning the public not to purchase the furniture from the Forbes as it was his 'bona fide property', purchased at public auction in June under distraint for rent.
