Gentlemen,
Having received
Information that Certain Seditious Assemblies and Consultations of the
People have been held in different parts of this Colony, to the great
Danger of His Majesty's Government and the Public Peace, I have to desire
you will meet and call before you all such Persons as you shall be of
opinion can afford you any Information how far these Reports are well or
ill-founded and to suggest such other Steps as may appear to You necessary
for the Preservation of Order
